Post Production Sound and Pick Up Shots

Voice over work has been completed and we're preparing for foley work to begin. In addition, as the weather turns from cold to warm, we'll be finishing up the pick-ups shots for the film. On the list is a death scene, some close-ups to flesh out a fight and the second half of a flash-back.

Under Contract

February signals the beginning of pre-production for another short film, Under Contract. Intended to be a one-day shoot at the end of February, with minimal script and only one location, this new production once again brings many creative heads to the table to produce a piece about a local musicians rise to fame and the prices he has paid.

In Memory Of: Rehearsals

Rehearsals for In Memory Of begin the first week of December. Actors should be in touch with W.J. at this point. Our primary roles have been filled, however, we're still looking to fill a lead role for an actress. A decent amount of physical activity is required and anyone interested should be in reasonable shape and able to work through physical choreographed sequences.

In addition, we will need to fill several key crew positions; Director of Lighting, Production Designer/Prop Master. Anyone with no or little experience may apply for the position of Production Assistant. Contact us for details.

Pray For Dawn: Post Production Continues

Pray for Dawn has been taken into the hands of a professional video editor who will tweak any small issues we have had and a sound editor to assist in finalizing sound. We will be recording voice overs for the last few actors as well as finishing foley work.

The Pray For Dawn website has been up for a while now and the trailer has received great reviews from those who have seen it. We look forward to wrapping up this project and getting it out to all who have waited patiently to see the fruits of their work. Thanks again to all cast and crew who put their heart into this project. I feel you will be proud once you see the finished film.

Announcement: In Memory Of

It is coming to the holiday season, and Writers of the Storm is going to celebrate by entering production of our next film, "In Memory Of". We have finished a fantastic script, and have begun casting actors as well as working to fill out our crew.

Shooting will begin in December and continue through January of 2010. Our film is an ambitious one. Being a 15 minute thriller, it is filled with twists and turns and great imagery. A portion of the script will be posted on our site, and more news is to follow as we continue pre-production.

Life After the 48 Hour Film

July and August proved to be wonderful times for Writers of the Storm. We entered the 48 Hour film project, and even though we encountered technical problems along the way, we finished a film that now we can be proud of.

"Grandpa's Magic Secrets Revealed" was our mockumentary, and we will be posting this film on our website soon. This project brought over 26 cast and crew together many of whom had never met, and through the process of filming made them all a team. Now we have the makings of a great film crew and are already planning our next project.

We have now past our third month of post production and are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. With the video editing completed we have entered the sound editing phase, and though tedious it has been a wonderful experience watching our project bloom.

Now we feel it is time to give you all a quick look at what is to come. Our website, www.prayfordawnthemovie.com is up and running. We present behind the scenes galleries, as well as stills from the film, and info on the cast and crew. Our first teaser trailer is up now and available to stream or download in HD. We will continue to update you with the latest news as it comes.

Our First Feature Film

Pray for Dawn was a script originally intended to give us a project through which we could learn the inner workings of film production. From storyboarding to location scouting, casting to film editing, we dove in head first and learned through trial by fire. With everything being said and done, we have come to a point where we feel we really have something here.

Film Wrap

After a grueling 4 months it looks as though WOTS's first feature film production, Pray for Dawn will finish shooting in the coming week. We will then proceed directly to the post production phase. I would like to thank the cast and crew for their time and effort. It was difficult after losing locations to weather and such, but you all pulled through, and made this an enjoyable experience. I cannot wait to finalize this feature so that I may begin our next project

B Movie Celebration - Franklin Indiana

I spent the week-end in Franklin, Indiana, attending the IndyFilm Co-Op B Movie Celebration. Franklin is a small mid-western town, marked notably by a small college and a historic downtown theater, the Artcraft. Nestled among turn of the century Victorian stately homes and 1920s bungalows, Franklin is as classic as the double feature drive-in.

Feature Film: Pray For Dawn

Greetings all-- Just a quick update. Things have been going well with the company. We are preparing to film our first feature. Shooting will begin on June 13Th 2008, and will hopefully wrap up June 20Th. We have just finished signing contracts with the cast, and all locations have been finalized. We are still in the process of signing the rest of the crew, and we hope to have those positions filled within the following week. A copy of the script will be posted on the website in the next few days for those who might like a sneak peak. We will update you through the following weeks.
