Indianapolis dates for the 2010 run of the 48 Hour Film project have been announced (July 31 - Aug 1). We'd like to participate in the contest again because we had such a blast last year. Though we plan on scaling back the size of our group this time, we'd love to hear from anyone who is interested in joining our team.
On Thursday March 18th, Writers of the Storm met with Gordon Bonham and Brian Goodwin at the Blue Square Sound recording studio here in Indianapolis to work on the original song for the upcoming project, "Under Contract", and things couldn't have gone better. Working with these two professionals was a rare treat for myself. Not a moment was wasted, and the collaborative effort of everyone helped shape a wonderful product.
We will be returning to the Studio on Tuesday March 23rd to finish mixing. After the song is complete, the pre-production will continue. We are looking at a late April shoot, but no exact date has been set.
February signals the beginning of pre-production for another short film, Under Contract. Intended to be a one-day shoot at the end of February, with minimal script and only one location, this new production once again brings many creative heads to the table to produce a piece about a local musicians rise to fame and the prices he has paid.

Rehearsals for In Memory Of begin the first week of December. Actors should be in touch with W.J. at this point. Our primary roles have been filled, however, we're still looking to fill a lead role for an actress. A decent amount of physical activity is required and anyone interested should be in reasonable shape and able to work through physical choreographed sequences.
In addition, we will need to fill several key crew positions; Director of Lighting, Production Designer/Prop Master. Anyone with no or little experience may apply for the position of Production Assistant. Contact us for details.
It is coming to the holiday season, and Writers of the Storm is going to celebrate by entering production of our next film, "In Memory Of". We have finished a fantastic script, and have begun casting actors as well as working to fill out our crew.
Shooting will begin in December and continue through January of 2010. Our film is an ambitious one. Being a 15 minute thriller, it is filled with twists and turns and great imagery. A portion of the script will be posted on our site, and more news is to follow as we continue pre-production.
July and August proved to be wonderful times for Writers of the Storm. We entered the 48 Hour film project, and even though we encountered technical problems along the way, we finished a film that now we can be proud of.
"Grandpa's Magic Secrets Revealed" was our mockumentary, and we will be posting this film on our website soon. This project brought over 26 cast and crew together many of whom had never met, and through the process of filming made them all a team. Now we have the makings of a great film crew and are already planning our next project.
The incredible 48 Hour Film Project is coming to Indianapolis and Writers of The Storm will be a part of it! We're really looking forward to this great opportunity to put our mettle to the test. July will prove to be a very busy month.
We have now past our third month of post production and are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. With the video editing completed we have entered the sound editing phase, and though tedious it has been a wonderful experience watching our project bloom.

We will continue to update you with the latest news as it comes.
After a grueling 4 months it looks as though WOTS's first feature film production, Pray for Dawn will finish shooting in the coming week. We will then proceed directly to the post production phase. I would like to thank the cast and crew for their time and effort. It was difficult after losing locations to weather and such, but you all pulled through, and made this an enjoyable experience. I cannot wait to finalize this feature so that I may begin our next project.
Just a quick update. Things have been going well with the company. We are preparing to film our first feature. Shooting will begin on June 13Th 2008, and will hopefully wrap up June 20Th. We have just finished signing contracts with the cast, and all locations have been finalized. We are still in the process of signing the rest of the crew, and we hope to have those positions filled within the following week. A copy of the script will be posted on the website in the next few days for those who might like a sneak peak. We will update you through the following weeks.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting with John Taylor, the owner and manager of Colorfully Dark Productions. He too is from the Midwest and has aspirations of making it in the film industry. After viewing his first two films, Writers of the storm has decided to join forces and work together on our next project.
I recently had the extreme luck of attending SXSW, where I attended a number of panels relating to indie film making and how it relates to the web as a whole. Whether it was uploading your work to iFilm.com or even selling your work to IFC.
